Throughout the years God has used different people to lead our team as we share the Good News of Jesus Christ in Victoria. We are grateful for God’s faithfulness over many years! The story of our church is a monument to God’s greatness, faithfulness, and provision. It has been God’s grace that has brought us through every victory and every trial throughout the years, as we continue to move forward with excitement for what He continues to do.

In September 2017 the church family called Timothy Janzen, to lead the ministry of Capital City Baptist Church.

Pastor Timothy Janzen and his wife Esther, together with their three young children, look forward to giving you a warm welcome as our guest at Capital City Baptist Church. The timeless truths of God’s preserved Word are exciting and helpful to every person, no matter their age or stage in life.

For us to learn “How To Be Saved” we must go to God’s Holy Word, the Bible.

When we look there, we find that we have to: Acknowledge our sin; Repent of our sin; and by faith Receive the Lord Jesus Christ into our heart and life to be saved.

God clearly reveals to us the Biblical fact that we are all sinners – “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” – Romans 3:23. The Bible also says, “…for there is no man that sinneth not…” – 1 Kings 8:46. Note also what God says to us in 1 John 1:10, “If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.” Let us acknowledge before God that we are indeed sinners. Like King David and others, may we say, “…I have sinned against the LORD…” – 2 Samuel 12:13.

Once we have acknowledged that we are a sinner before the Holy God of the Bible, we need to repent of our sin. Listen to what Jesus preached from the beginning of His public ministry, “…Repent…” – Matthew 4:17. Later, He proclaimed, “…except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.” – Luke 13:3. To be saved, once we have truly confessed to God that we are a sinner, we must repent of (turn from) our sin.

Now, one must receive the Lord Jesus Christ (the only One who saves sinners) into one’s heart and life to be saved – “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:” – John 1:12. Note also the words of the Lord Jesus Christ in Revelation 3:20, “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him…”

If you are not yet saved, we pray that you will acknowledge to God that you have sinned and that you are a sinner, in need of His Son, Jesus Christ, to save you from your sin. We also pray that you will, in your heart, repent of your sin and at the same time open your heart to the Lord Jesus Christ to receive Him as your Saviour from sin. If you will acknowledge that you are a sinner, repent of your sin, and receive the Lord Jesus Christ into your heart and life, He will save you from your sin for all eternity.
